DRYWALL SPECIALIST

This role works primarily for our Special Services Division and is a client-facing role requiring exceptional patching skills and customer service. You will doing comparatively little hanging, taping and mudding. Your primary focus is on repairs, matching high end finishes and small remodel projects.

 

Job Description

The Drywall Specialist position requires a desire to work hard with a team of talented carpenters and to take on greater responsibilities as you progress. The Master Drywall Finisher position requires specialty drywall expertise in specific areas of drywall installation such as installing drywall in curved or arch- shaped surfaces, which requires advanced cutting and bending techniques. Other specialty areas include Level 5 finishes, ceiling installations, decorative finishes, or high-end custom projects.

Drywall Specialist Reports to General Manager

 

Qualifications

  • Customer service oriented with great communication skills

  • Must be able to install, finish and paint

  • Apply joint compound, tape, sand, create smooth and seamless finishes on drywall surfaces

  • Able to work independently

  • Efficient, self-motivated, dependable, and ethical

  • 5+ years of high-end drywall experience

  • Carpentry skills a plus

  • Able to anticipate problems and have ideas for solving the problems at hand as well as estimate the

    materials and time needed to perform a specific task

  • Able to exhibit proper use of tools and equipment

  • Knowledge of safety and health procedures and follows them

  • Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record

     

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis for an 8-hour day

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., including overhead

  • Ability to perform physical and repetitive motions

  • Requires vision and hearing capabilities

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, Monday-Friday. Fairbank Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

  • The salary range for this position is $28-$39/hour

  • 7 Paid Holidays per Year (plus Veteran’s Day if you are a military veteran)

  • PTO 2 weeks of paid time off per year for sick, vacation and personal time, up to 4 weeks with years of service

  • Paid Bereavement Leave

  • 401(k) Plan with employer match

  • Health, dental, vision, accident, and life insurance after 60 days for an employee working at least 20

    hours per week
