On a steep Puget Sound hillside held by the same family since the 1950s, Fairbank Construction redeveloped two adjacent parcels—once home to a mid-century house and a 1920s cabin—into a pair of modern family retreats just 50 feet apart.

Built on the original footprints to preserve the slope and minimize disturbance, each home features a unique blend of stone, concrete, wood, and metal, reflecting the distinct tastes of the two siblings while maintaining a cohesive design. Shared elements include stone mass walls, a communal drive with a green roof overlook, and extensive outdoor amenities such as dining areas, showers, and a hot tub.
