South Island Estate
Set along a quiet bay facing Mount Rainier, the Beans Bight Residence underwent a full remodel to reflect a more Pacific Northwest aesthetic. Originally built in a Nantucket style, the home featured white paneling, painted trim, and minimal connection to the outdoors.
Working closely with the design team, we replaced small windows with large wood-framed openings, introduced natural wood finishes, burnished steel accents, and reconfigured cabinetry in rich, regional materials. Exterior colors and materials were updated to better suit the local landscape, while newly transparent walls helped unify indoor and outdoor spaces.
We also constructed a new entry gate and courtyard with bluestone paving, water features, and fencing to buffer the home from the drive. The transformation brought the home into harmony with its surroundings—anchored in place, yet open to the views beyond.
