Suquamish Residence
The Suquamish Residence was designed to lightly touch its steep, rocky site, minimizing traditional foundations and preserving 88% of the 1.67-acre parcel in its native state. Accessed by a 55-foot suspended bridge, the modest entry opens to a light-filled interior centered on a 2½-story stair that connects living spaces to expansive eastern views. The master suite angles toward Seattle’s skyline, while guest and recreation areas occupy the lower level. Sustainable design elements include rainwater capture, radiant heating, high-efficiency systems, reused materials, and FSC-certified wood construction.
